Inaugural Meeting of ‘Muree’ held
at the Oddfellows Hall, Auckland Street, Newcastle, 28th March 1940

Motions: Moved and seconded
that the Constitution be adopted – carried.
Moved and seconded that a Golf Club be formed – carried.
Moved and seconded the Golf Club be called ‘Muree Golf Club’ – carried.
Moved and seconded opening day to be held o Saturday, 28th April 1940

Moved and seconded that the Club hold its first General Meeting at Oddfellows Hall
on Tuesday 9th April at 8pm – to elect officers for the year and any
other business – carried.

1940 – was held to mark the opening of the ‘Muree Golf Links – Raymond Terrace’

4 = 2/- (two shillings) afternoon tea - free.
Parish Cup: The Parish Cup was originated
on 9th August 1940 (Committee or Management meeting). The Cup was
named after the then President of Port Stephens Shire, Councilor S. Parish, who
donated ₤1/1/- to the Club. It was then a Stroke Handicap Event confined
to Club Members.
