MUREE GOLF CLUB
Muree Golf Club is named after an historical citrus orchard, on which much of the course was built during the 1940's. An old rock quarry, Windeyer's Creek, Pioneer Hill Cemetery and Boomerang Park have all had their place in the development of the course.
With distant views of the Hunter's landmarks, and adjoining the M1 Pacific Motorway just North of Heatherbrae, many pass our course and don't even know it's there. Get the GPS to do its job and you are only two minutes from the highway. With giant tallowwoods lining some of our fairways, you will see all kinds of birdlife, and maybe a koala. You are guaranteed to see a least one, anyway, with our 4 metre tall sculpted (by Geoff Hitchcock) mascot guarding the new 6th green.
Soon, the opportunity to live in these surrounding may be offered.
Muree is located near Newcastle Airport, and from our vantage points you can see the sand hills of Stockton Bight, Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean, the distant residential heights of the major cities of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, The Brokenback Range surrounding the famous Pokolbin Wine Region, and the world famous Barrington Tops. All are within short drives of Muree.
Port Stephens Council offices and Raymond Terrace CBD are only 90 seconds away and boast all retail (yes- two Woolworths and a BigW) and medical services. Speed boat racing, fishing, a native animal zoo and touring interests for everyone within the local area are a feature of 'the terrace'.
Award-winning and inexpensive accommodation are all within five minutes of course.
Social, Corporate and Charity golfing is able to be arranged any day ( including Saturday afternoons). As a social hub for the locality, the Club provides facilities for Members and visitors, including...
